Primary in any music intensive format is the music. The current music is not the tough part, it can be determined by watching the charts and utilizing the vast resources available such as: MediaBase, AllAccess.com, and a variety of other internet options. It is the re-currents and oldies that can make or break a radio station. Again, MediaBase, etc. can be a formidable tool. A good music director can make a radio station sing or flop musically. I believe a good program director will work in conjunction with a music director to hone and fine tune a radio station.
