Talent

Don't even think about leaving talent out of this equation. These are the people who provide the fun. They are the backbone of the programming side of a radio station. These are the people on the front lines. These people make a lot of sacrifices in this industry. These folks not only have to have a certain gift for gab, but they also must be sales people, politicians and comedians.

Also, in the 21st century, radio announcers/personalities must be computer operators, writers and Producers. They must be able to work at all hours, holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. To top it all off, these people are usually the most egocentric, paranoid, underpaid, self centered and exceedingly sensitive of all the radio staff. Radio announcers must be handled with a firm hand inside kid gloves.
